Alignment Over Assignment

Tomas Keenan • Feb 08, 2021

People often ask me how I could walk away from a million+ dollar company that I built over the last eleven years. A company that I put blood, sweat, and tears into for over a decade. A company that seemed to be in perfect alignment with my personal and professional goals…

The answer is quite simple, though. There was no fulfillment in my life from installing GPS tracking devices. I was good at it, one of the top in the industry, in fact. But I had a yearning to help others on a deeper level. And it had nothing to do with money. While it seemed like GPS installation was in alignment, the truth was it was simply my “assignment,” and installing GPS tracking devices wasn’t my life’s purpose.

Alignment is where it’s at

The truth is, I’ve learned that when you position your alignment over your assignment you begin living with purpose. And living with purpose is worth more than any dollar amount. Living with purpose fills your cup and feeds your soul in a way that no amount of money ever could.

If you don’t believe me, take a look at this:

Random messages like this come over from badass clients and let me know that I made the right choice for me and my family. When I read things like this, I know without a shadow of a doubt that I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing, and there’s nothing more fulfilling than that.

People don’t need to understand

Some will never get it… and that’s ok. I’m not doing this for them, I’m doing it for me. Knowing that I can have this type of impact on another person’s life makes all the naysayers fade into the background. The people who don’t understand haven’t found their purpose yet, and maybe they never will. But I have, and I’m not turning back now. I’m in perfect alignment with my purpose, and that feels amazing.

I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing with my time here on Earth.
